Run Little Pink Nano, Run!

Apple_ipod_nano_4gb_pinkI got an iPod Nano for Christmas.  A pink 4GB second generation one to be exact.  I guess now my pink RAZR phone has a rosy partner in crime as I am packing two super skinny electronic doodads in all their metallic pink glory!  At this rate, I’m going to need to replace my silver PDA with a sweet pink successor or at least put it in a pink cover (um, probably not actually)!

There are a few ramifications to having my new iPod.  The most obvious one is that I have finally joined the legions of fervent Microsoft-must-die design mavens who love all that is Apple.  I’ve never owned one of their products in my life (I love right-clicking much too much) but now I find myself in possession of the ultimate Apple gadget, white earbuds and all.  Ack!

Despite a mild feeling of having sold out (I have been a Windows chick for over a decade now), I love my new MP3 player.  It’s small, sleek and plays a gazillion songs…what’s not to like?!  I just have to be careful I don’t lose it because it’s so deliciously tiny!

Another ramification is that I will now have musical moral support for one of my 2007 resolutions:  running!  Yes, you heard that right…despite a lifetime of insisting that I. Do. Not. Run. No. Matter. What….I have decided to try a more pedestrian (ha ha, me so punny) lifestyle and run on my non-volleyball weekdays.  Will I die?  Probably.  But at least I’ll go out looking hot with my chic Nano!

So obviously I’m a little nervous about this whole running thing, but I am also experiencing some anxiety directly related to owning an iPod.  Apparently, despite having MP3 device in hand, I’m not truly a member of the Apple family until I also get totally accessorized!

That’s right…the final ramification of owning an iPod is that I am supposed to pimp my player.  The iTrip, iDog, iBeam, iDock, iTalk, iDon’tKnowWhyiAmBankrollingSteveJobs seem to all be required to join the “in” crowd.  And here I was just hoping to buy a simple band or strap to attach my iPod to my arm. But I would like some portable speakers for tournaments. And a radio receiver would be nice. Maybe a docking station system for home use too… Dang it, you see how the downward slide begins?! I’m going to draw the line at blinging out it out with pink Swarovski crystals though. Really. Seriously. I promise.

Oooh…look…pink sparklies…so pretty… =P
